Your donation supports the Mandarin portion of the CLIP curriculum. The CUSD only funds the English portion. Your donation is vital support for your child’s opportunity to learn Mandarin and to the success of CLIP.

What does your donation support?

  • Chinese textbooks
  • Updates to the curriculum
  • Instructional aids
  • Computers for use with Chinese instructional software
  • CLIP Art
  • Chinese books for the library
  • Chinese classroom materials
  • Assessment and evaluation of CLIP performance

When is the best time to give?

We encourage families to donate by December 31.  This enables more efficient program planning and results in the maximization of tax-deductions. In addition, donations in Fall may be elgible to take full advantage of corporate matching programs.

How much should you give?

We ask each family to give $700 for the first Meyerholz student in the program, $600 for each additional Bulldog, and $200 for each Lawson student in the program.

Remember that this program is only successful if all parents participate and contribute.  Even if you cannot make the suggested contribution, there is an option to contribute a partial amount, or through flexible installment plans.

Please be sure to do your part to continue keeping this program successful.

How can your employer help CLIP?
Many companies provide charitable matching programs –  CLIP received $24,654.50 from corporate matching programs in the 2008-2009 school year.  In addition, some companies offer other giving and volunteer program that are equally important.

  • HP has a charitable giving program where parents may make an in-kind donation of much needed equipment at a significantly reduced cost.
  • Applied Materials will give a $250 Grant to CLIP and Intel will donate $10/hour to CLIP if an employee volunteers a minimum of 20 hours a year.
  • Yahoo! will provide 8-hours of company paid Community Service time a year for employee volunteers

Please check with your HR department for available programs.  Send this information to info@cusdclipco.org and CLIPCO will spread the word to other parents to take advantage of these Corporate Community Programs.
