DIRECT GIVE CAMPAIGN

This year CLIPCO is asking CLIP families to donate $500 for each child at Meyerholz and $250 for each child at middle schools to cover their share of CLIP educational expenses.

Donate before November 4th to compete for prizes:

Prize #1:  CLIP Water Bottle -- Donate at least $150 for this "must have" item.
Prize #2:  Rootbeer Float Party -- The homeroom in each grade (Meyerholz) and the grade (middle school) with the highest direct give participation rate will win this scrumptuous refresher.
Prize #3:  WAY COOL T-Shirts -- For any homeroom (Meyerholz) or grade (middle school) that achieves 100% participation rate.

Contest Rules
1.  Donations must be received by midnight on November 4, 2011.  Only paid portions of pledges will count.
2. Recommended donation is $500 for each Meyerholz student.  Minimum donation of $150.
3.  Families with multiple siblings will have donations evenly divided among siblings.

 Why Donate?

 Your donation supports the Mandarin portion of the CLIP curriculum. The CUSD only funds the English portion. Your donation is vital support for your child’s opportunity to learn Mandarin and to the success of CLIP.

What does your donation support?

Your donation supports the Chinese textbooks, Chinese books for the library, updates to the curriculum, instructional aides, computers and software, CLIP Art, Chinese classroom materials, and assessment tests/evaluations of CLIP student performance.  For the complete budget, please visit the CAC (CLIP Advisory Committee) page.

When is the best time to give?

Our Direct Give Campaign runs through November 4th, 2011, and we encourage families to donate by December 31.  This enables more efficient program planning and results in the maximization of tax-deductions. In addition, donations in Fall may be eligible to take full advantage of corporate matching programs.

How much should you give?

We ask each family to give $500 for each Meyerholz student, and $250 for each Middle School student in the program.

How can your employer help CLIP?

Many companies provide charitable matching programs –  CLIP received $26,705.00 from corporate matching programs in the 2010-2011 school year.  Check with your company's Human Resource Department to determine if there is a Corporate Matching Gift Program and what the process is to apply.

When filling out the application, please enter Cupertino Language Immersion Program Community Organization as your organization name. If using a paper form, send the form to the school office, Attn: CLIPCO Treasurer or to CLIPCO, P.O. Box 1344, Cupertino, CA  95014-1344 for completion.

In addition, some companies offer other giving and volunteer program that are equally important.

• HP has a charitable giving program where parents may make an in-kind donation of much needed equipment at a significantly reduced cost.
• Applied Materials will give a $250 Grant to CLIP and Intel will donate $10/hour to CLIP if an employee volunteers a minimum of 20 hours a year.
• Yahoo! will provide 8-hours of company paid Community Service time a year for employee volunteers

Please check with your HR department for available programs.  Send this information to info@cusdclipco.org and CLIPCO will spread the word to other parents to take advantage of these Corporate Community Programs.
